On the evening of December 12 local time, King Charles III of the United Kingdom updated the public on his battle with cancer through a video address, revealing that he has responded well to treatment and that the number of treatments can be reduced next year.
The 77-year-old Charles said in the video, recorded in late November, that due to early diagnosis, effective intervention, and adherence to medical advice, his cancer treatment regimen can be reduced in the coming year. He also praised the "remarkable progress made in cancer treatment in recent years" and emphasized the importance of early cancer screening.
The British royal family announced in February 2024 that King Charles III had been diagnosed with cancer and had begun receiving treatment.
Although treatment is not yet complete, a royal spokesperson said that King Charles III has had an "extremely positive response to treatment, and doctors have advised that the current measures will soon enter a preventive phase."
