Liu Shiquan Leads Delegation to Visit Minqing, Fuzhou, Warmly Welcomed by Fellow Countrymen

(Brunei, 19th) Dr. Liu Shiquan, President of the Brunei Fuzhou Ten Counties Association, led a delegation of seven to Minqing County, Fuzhou two days ago for a visit and inspection, where they were warmly received by the local fellow countrymen.
On the morning of the day before yesterday, the delegation traveled to visit their ancestral home and the Bangdong Fengyang Liu Ancestral Hall, sincerely thanking the fellow townspeople for their welcome ceremony with firecrackers and banners.
During lunch, the delegation was hosted by Jiang Mengjin, Chairman of the Minqing County Foreign Affairs Office, and Huang Xiangfen, Chairman of the Bandong Foreign Affairs Office.
Dr. Liu Shiquan stated that this is his third visit to his hometown since the Brunei Fuzhou Ten Counties Association was established in 2012.

In his speech, he expressed his most sincere greetings and gratitude to each fellow countryman on behalf of the Brunei Fuzhou Ten Counties Association. He felt honored to stand here today as the association's president to give a speech.
He said that since its establishment on August 1, 2012, the Brunei Fuzhou Ten Counties Association has been adhering to the mission of uniting fellow countrymen and promoting Minqing culture, moving forward continuously. This is his third time returning to his homeland, and each return makes them deeply feel the rapid development and ever-changing progress of their hometown.
“I remember our first return in 2015, when the hometown was already showing vitality. During the 2019 visit, we were amazed by the great changes in our hometown. Skyscrapers rose, roads were accessible in all directions, and people's living standards have significantly improved. All of this is due to the hard work of the hometown people and the wise leadership of the government.”

At the banquet, Foreign Affairs Office Chairman Jiang Mengjin also mentioned the service of connecting overseas compatriots seeking relatives. Every year, more than a hundred people find relatives in their hometowns through the Foreign Affairs Office.
