The legendary Chinese rock band Tong Yang recently made their debut in Malaysia, bringing the “The World Will Be Better 2” concert. As the show began, the band kicked off with songs like “Four Phases” and “Stranger,” opening the night’s performance with a bang. They also brought out their classic hit “West Lake,” instantly igniting the atmosphere and prompting a chorus from the entire audience.

Soon after, the band greeted the audience warmly in Malay with “Apa Khabar?”, sparking a wave of screams and cheers, kicking off the first major climax of the evening.

The setlist included many classic tracks such as “Song of the Highway,” “West Lake,” “Today's Youth,” “The Last Train,” “Don't Stop My Music,” “Sing a Song for You,” and more. Fans responded enthusiastically, with singalongs echoing throughout the venue and the rock vibe soaring ever higher.

Before performing “Song of the Highway,” lead singer Gao Hu tossed a paper airplane from the stage into the audience, causing a roar of delight. As soon as the song’s intro played, the crowd erupted into a powerful singalong. The vocalist repeatedly handed the mic to the audience, letting fans take over the chorus—their voices nearly overpowering the sound system.

Before “The Last Train” began, Tong Yang likened the tour to a relentlessly advancing little train: “Our little train goes from Bangkok to Singapore, and then to Kuala Lumpur. We’re so grateful to have everyone together.” As soon as the words fell, the audience spontaneously started a “train wave,” moving throughout the venue with the music and heating up the atmosphere.

The concert ultimately ended with “Goodbye Jack” as the finale, putting a perfect finishing touch on this emotionally charged Malaysian debut. Even after the show, the audience was reluctant to leave, chanting “Encore!” in hopes that Tong Yang would return to the stage for more. Though there was no encore, the passionate cheers of the night lingered long after.
