(Miri, 9 July) – Sarawak Oil Palms Berhad (SOP) joined forces with the National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) to hold a series of ‘Kasi Jadi Integrity Promotion Activities’ from June 12 to July 4 across its operational units in Miri, Bintulu, Murum, and Sri Aman. The initiatives included anti-drug and anti-gambling awareness talks, actively fostering a safe, healthy, and responsible work environment.
The aim of this program is to enhance employees’ understanding of the dangers of drug abuse and illegal gambling, while strengthening a culture of integrity, accountability, and self-discipline within the company. Covering hundreds of SOP employees, the activities utilized face-to-face interaction and professional briefings to help staff deeply grasp the long-term impact of drugs and gambling on individuals, families, and the work environment.
Ronald Banus Tuzan, manager of Metanik 1 Estate under SOP, stated that they firmly believe a healthy and knowledgeable workforce is the foundation of operational excellence and sustainable development. Through collaboration with the AADK and police, they are able to bring preventive education to their frontline teams, strengthening their awareness and sense of responsibility.
He also pointed out that cross-sector cooperation between government agencies and private enterprises is key to addressing shared social issues. He expressed gratitude to AADK and the police for their long-term support and professional guidance to SOP, and hopes that through these collaborative efforts, they can not only ensure employee safety but also contribute to building a safer and more resilient community.
The 'Kasi Jadi Integrity Promotion Activity' is part of SOP's employee care plan, demonstrating the company’s proactive attitude and ongoing efforts in advocating positive workplace behaviour, enhancing safety awareness, and promoting the core values of integrity, accountability, and care.
