The announcement pointed out that in accordance with the "Customs Law of the People's Republic of China", the "Foreign Trade Law of the People's Republic of China", and other relevant laws and regulations as well as basic principles of international law, upon approval by the State Council, starting from 12:01 p.m. on April 10, 2025, all imported goods originating from the United States will be subject to an additional 34% tariff.
The announcement stated that goods that have departed from the point of origin before 12:01 p.m. on April 10, 2025, and are imported between 12:01 p.m. on April 10, 2025, and 24:00 on May 13, 2025, will not be subjected to this additional tariff.
China urges the United States to immediately cancel the unilateral tariff measures and resolve trade differences through consultation in a manner of equality, respect, and reciprocity.
