(Miri, 19th) A serious fire broke out early this morning at Kampung Pasir, Lutong, where 9 non-permanent wooden houses were engulfed and completely destroyed by the blaze. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
Authorities stated that this fire involved 9 non-permanent houses each measuring about 30 by 100 square feet. Six of these were occupied and 3 were vacant. The fire did not result in any casualties.

It is understood that the affected residents comprised six households, involving 37 individuals: Albert Banjang (5 people), Bob Anak Kendau (6 people), Mathew Anak Enteri (6 people), Admend Anak Chol (7 people), Francis Xavier Anak Paim (6 people), and Merina Anak Geraji (7 people). The remaining units were unoccupied.
During the operation, the fire brigade mobilized 24 personnel and deployed 3 fire engines (FRT), 2 Emergency Medical Rescue Service vehicles (EMRS), 1 Triton, and 1 Nissan support vehicle. The police also sent 5 personnel to help maintain order at the scene.
While extinguishing the fire, the fire brigade used two lengths of hoses totaling 300 feet and 4 nozzles for firefighting, employing the "relay pumping" method to supply water from a hydrant about 600 feet away, to ensure sufficient water supply.
However, due to the high density of buildings at the site and the distant location of the water source, which was only available on the main road, fire trucks faced difficulties in accessing the area and firefighting efforts were briefly hindered.
After confirming that the fire was completely extinguished and there was no risk of rekindling, the firefighters withdrew and returned to their stations. The cause of the fire and the extent of losses are still pending further investigation by the authorities. In addition, Wilfred Mac, the Senadin area representative, was also present at the scene to learn about the situation.
