(Seria, 29th) The Seria Hainan Association held its 86th anniversary celebration last night, where President Kong Fanci announced in his speech that he will step down from his post at the end of next month, concluding his ten-year leadership tenure. He stated that he will wholeheartedly support the incoming leadership team and hopes the association will achieve new successes with fresh momentum.
President Kong pointed out that the current committee’s term will expire at the end of next month, and having served as president for ten years, he feels it is time to "pass the torch to the capable." He said that being able to serve the association over the past decade has been an honor and one of the most cherished experiences of his life; however, for the organization to continuously move forward, new energy and ideas must be injected.
He said that entrusting this important responsibility to the new generation of leaders is not only a handover of duties, but also a crucial opportunity for the association to gain new vigor. He hopes members of the clan will continue to unite and fully support the new leadership team, believing they can lead the association to further brilliance, ensuring that the Seria Hainan Association will continue to grow and prosper.
Kong Fanci also expressed special thanks to all past committee members, members, and clan relatives for their long-term trust and support. He emphasized that although he is stepping down as president, he will continue to support the association wholeheartedly and dedicate his efforts, moving forward hand-in-hand with everyone.
Speaking about the development of the association, he mentioned that from November 13 to 18 this year, the association organized a group of 40 members to attend the 18th World Hainanese Association Convention in Penang, Malaysia. The convention brought together representatives of Hainanese associations from around the world, facilitating exchanges, sharing experiences, and fostering friendships and cooperation.
He noted that such international exchange platforms not only broaden horizons but also contribute to the inheritance and promotion of Hainanese culture. The next World Hainanese Association Convention will be held in two years' time in Bangkok, Thailand, and he sincerely invites more fellow Hainanese to participate actively and continue to support this biennial grand event, allowing the unity and cohesion of Hainanese people to shine on the international stage.
Kong Fanci concluded by saying that as everyone gathered that evening to celebrate the association's 86th anniversary, he would like to, on behalf of the association, extend his sincerest gratitude to all members and fellow Hainanese for their years of support, trust, and care, and thank everyone for actively participating in various activities, which has enabled the association’s continual growth and progress.
