Chinese internet celebrity with over a million followers, “Your Ferry” (real name Zhang Chun), was reported to have passed away on New Year’s Day at the age of 29. According to local media on the 12th, Zhang Chun’s mother said her daughter enjoyed staying up late and had poor heart function. Zhang’s body has already been cremated.
In the early morning of January 1st, Zhang Chun suffered a sudden cardiac issue at her residence in Shanghai and was rushed to the hospital, but could not be saved. On the 12th, her family confirmed the news of her death and disclosed that her body had been cremated in Shanghai. An alleged screenshot of a conversation between Zhang’s mother “Little Ferry’s Mom” and a friend of Zhang Chun has circulated online, in which her mother said, “It happened suddenly, it was a sudden death from cardiac arrest,” and “She liked staying up late, and her heart wasn’t very good.”
Zhang Chun was known online as “Sister Kouzi”, and since 2018 she frequently shared content about sneaker culture and fashion trends, earning the title of “Sneaker Goddess” and attracting many young followers—with 1.131 million followers on Douyin alone. In 2019, Zhang Chun ventured into the music industry, participating in the variety show “Listen to My Rap” and releasing several rap songs, gaining some recognition in the hip-hop circle.
However, Zhang Chun’s streetwear store investment lost money in 2023 and eventually closed down. Coupled with family misfortunes, a series of setbacks caused her to develop depression. In 2024, Zhang Chun suddenly announced she would be shifting to an overseas adult platform, which resulted in her being cyberbullied. Over the next year, Zhang Chun’s health declined, and during a livestream last year, she revealed she had contracted syphilis and was suffering from severe skin problems. Unexpectedly, just as 2025 began, news of her passing broke.
