(Bandar Seri Begawan, 14th) The French Embassy in Brunei held a reception at a hotel last night to celebrate France's National Day.
Minister of Education Datin Romaizah and her husband Haji Fazil attended the event as guests of honour.
French Ambassador to Brunei, Eve Rubien, mentioned in her welcoming remarks that 2025 is a special year for France, and especially highlighted the third United Nations Ocean Conference held last month in Nice.
“We were honoured to welcome the Brunei delegation led by the Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism.”
She said that the Sultan of Brunei is also celebrating the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with France.
The highlight of the reception was the cake-cutting ceremony jointly held by the ambassador and the distinguished guests to commemorate this important moment.
Also present at the ceremony were members of various diplomatic missions, the president and members of the Alliance Française de Brunei, and the president and members of the France-Brunei Business Association.
