(Kuching, 19th) Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus officially launched its brand-new Bachelor of Interior Architecture (Honours) global study pathway program on June 14, during the annual design graduation exhibition "GradX 2025."

The "2+2" pathway allows students to begin their Bachelor of Interior Architecture journey at the Sarawak campus from the first year. After completing the first two years, students will proceed to Swinburne's main campus in Melbourne, Australia for the remaining two years, ultimately earning an Australian-accredited Bachelor of Interior Architecture (Honours) degree.

The launch of this initiative marks another significant breakthrough in Swinburne's efforts to bring world-class design education to a broader audience, particularly benefiting students from East Malaysia, Southeast Asia, and the wider Asia-Pacific region. The course aims to nurture students' creative abilities and practical skills, adhering strictly to the teaching standards of the Melbourne campus.

Swinburne's interior architecture program is highly regarded in the industry, with graduates widely employed in diverse professional fields such as luxury hotels, retail spaces, healthcare facilities, and even defense laboratories.

The curriculum covers areas like space planning and management, building construction methods, material and craft studies, and digital design software operations. Additionally, the program emphasizes students' critical thinking and creative expression.

A key feature of the course is its close integration with the industry. Students will gain invaluable practical experience and industry insights through real-world projects and tasks incorporated directly into the teaching structure, laying a solid foundation for future employment.

Swinburne graduates have consistently been highly sought after by architectural and design firms in Melbourne. Some alumni have even gone on to establish their own design studios.

Moreover, the program offers a highly cost-effective advantage, allowing students to complete half of their studies locally, reducing the overall cost of studying abroad while still achieving an internationally-recognized Australian degree. This strikes a balance between global reputation and financial affordability.

The program aims to attract not only design talents from East Malaysia and Southeast Asia but also students from the Asia-Pacific region and other countries, further cementing Swinburne Sarawak Campus's leadership in international design education.

The establishment of this program also reflects Swinburne Sarawak Campus's steadfast commitment to advancing global educational pathways and promoting excellence in regional design development.
