(Kuala Lumpur, 21st) According to Bernama on Tuesday (January 20), the search for Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 debris was resumed at the end of 2025, covering a vast area. However, no significant clues have been found so far, and the relevant investigation has yet to reach definite conclusions.

The report quotes a periodic update posted on social media by the association of MH370 passengers and crew family members, stating that this round of the search operation started on January 6 and continued until the 14th, and was suspended on the 15th due to worsening weather conditions. As of now, the cumulative search area has exceeded 7,000 square kilometers.

The report noted that the search operation is progressing in an orderly manner within the designated sea area, and further results will depend on ongoing survey progress and favorable working conditions.

As early as March 2025, the Malaysian cabinet officially approved the signing of a service agreement between the government and the underwater exploration company Ocean Infinity, authorizing the company to conduct a search for MH370 debris in the southern Indian Ocean. The related work had briefly commenced but was also suspended due to weather factors.

The Malaysian Ministry of Transport announced in December 2025 that Ocean Infinity had confirmed to the government that the 55-day underwater search operation would restart and would proceed intermittently.

Ocean Infinity is an underwater exploration company specializing in marine robotic technology, with its team mainly based in the United States and the United Kingdom. According to the plan previously submitted by the company, the search will focus on a new seabed area of approximately 15,000 square kilometers in the southern Indian Ocean.

Flight MH370 disappeared in the early hours of March 8, 2014, with 227 passengers and 12 crew members on board. It was scheduled to fly from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, but disappeared from radar about 40 minutes after takeoff, and its whereabouts remain a mystery to this day.
