Have you ever seen a rat as big as a cat? Pest controllers in North Yorkshire, UK, have discovered a gigantic rat nearly 22 inches (about 55.88cm) long in a local household. Local officials warn that this giant rat is not an isolated case, but rather a result of an increasingly out-of-control infestation in the area.
North Yorkshire councillors David Taylor and Stephen Martin posted on Facebook, saying that this rat, "over 22 inches long from nose to tail," was found in a home in North Yorkshire.
According to photos taken by residents, the enormous rat was curled up inside a plastic bag ready to be thrown away.
“It’s almost as big as a kitten. And this is not a one-off occurrence; the size is truly shocking, and this is an increasingly severe problem.”
Local officials say that the number of rats discovered in the area is continuously increasing. They are found in alleys, garbage bins, and weed-filled wastelands, and are now even entering residents’ homes.
Taylor and Martin proposed increased funding and cooperation with landlords to address this chilling rat infestation issue.
“As your local councillors, we call on the council administration to take this problem seriously. Frontline staff are working very hard, but we need the entire district to act together. The longer this issue is ignored, the worse it will get. What we need is action—not just advice,” the post read.
