(Bandar Seri Begawan, 31st) The Ministry of Health has issued a statement notifying the public that, due to emergency repairs being carried out by the Public Works Department on the main water pipe, Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital and several national health centers, dialysis centers, and dental centers (especially in the Brunei-Muara District) are currently experiencing low water pressure issues.
Nevertheless, the authorities emphasized that primary and critical medical services in hospitals continue to operate as normal, and multiple mitigation measures and operational management plans have been activated to ensure patient safety and the orderly provision of care.
According to the statement, affected dialysis centers will adjust relevant services, including changes to dialysis treatment times and patient schedules, and, if necessary, patients will be referred to other dialysis treatment locations based on the actual situation.
Meanwhile, the National Dental Center and dental clinics at various health centers will restrict the number of patients and treatments, accepting only cases that require emergency intervention.
The Ministry of Health stated that the management of affected medical centers will continue to ensure the uninterrupted provision of core medical services. However, since water supply must be prioritized for clinical areas and medical services, other facilities—including toilets and some non-clinical areas—will also be affected. The public is kindly requested to understand.
The authorities emphasized that these arrangements are temporary measures aimed at ensuring patient safety and the continuity of medical services. They also expressed appreciation for the public’s cooperation, understanding, and patience during this period.
The Ministry of Health is also working closely with the Ministry of Development’s Public Works Department to continuously monitor the water supply situation, ensuring priority is given to water needs for patient care, healthcare facility operations, and public welfare.
The authorities sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or discomfort caused and urge the public to stay updated with the latest information by visiting the Ministry of Health’s official website **www.moh.gov.bn**, following the official social media accounts @mohbrunei and @ripash.bn, or calling Talian Darussalam 123 for inquiries.
