(Kuching, 30th) — At a community dinner held in the Kampung Abong village multipurpose hall, multiple newly upgraded public facilities were officially launched, marking a significant milestone for local residents.
Deputy Sarawak Minister of Transport (Aviation and Road) and Manwan constituency assemblyman, Dato Jerip Susil, officiated the event to celebrate the completion of key Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) projects benefiting Kampung Abong and Bangatan Ampat villages.
In his speech, Jerip Susil thanked the community for their strong cooperation and stated that rigorous project implementation helps avoid delays and ensures high-quality rural development.
He also highlighted the ongoing development in the nearby Annah Rais, Sapi, and Kedang villages, reflecting the increasing connectivity and tourism potential of these areas under the Sarawak Delta Geopark initiative.
During the event, Jerip Susil also announced the approval of an RM40,000 minor rural project grant for the Kampung Abong Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) to support its annual activities.
From 2016 to 2025, a total of seven regional development plan projects valued at RM1.23 million have been successfully completed in Kampung Abong and Bangatan Ampat.
The newly upgraded facilities include the multipurpose hall, parking lot, suspension bridge, village entrance, and walkways.
Outstanding students were also commended that night, with six top students receiving awards.
Padawan District Acting Administrative Officer Julius reminded community leaders to maintain public facilities and prevent vandalism for the benefit of the future.
