(Kuching, 23rd) The wife of Sarawak Premier Datuk Seri Abang Johari Tun Openg, Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani, passed away at 3:34 a.m. this morning. She is fondly remembered as a kind-hearted woman with close ties to the people. She was always dedicated to community service, education, and cultural causes, and served as a respectable role model for women.
The passing of Madam Juma’ani is a great loss not only for her beloved family, but also for all Sarawakians who have been touched by her kindness and spirit of devotion.
Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Ja’afar and his wife Toh Puan Datin Patinggi Faziah expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Madam Juma’ani.
“Datin Patinggi and I are deeply saddened by the news of Madam Juma’ani’s passing. We pray to Allah to grant her soul peace, forgive her shortcomings, and place her among the righteous,” Tun Ja’afar said in a post on his official Facebook page.
Tun Ja’afar praised Madam Juma’ani for her tremendous contributions to social welfare, women, and family development, and considered her passing a huge loss to Sarawak’s society.
“People from all walks of life in Sarawak have been deeply touched by Madam Juma’ani’s noble character. May the Premier and his entire family find resilience and strength in this painful time,” he added.
