Teachers' Core Strength Nurtures Talented Students—Pujut School Expresses Gratitude to Teachers

(Miri, 12th) Pujut Chinese School and Pujut Kindergarten Board Chairman Penghulu Chai Kong Ming stated that teachers are the core strength of a school and, more importantly, the crucial guides on student’s paths to growth. Teachers not only impart knowledge, but also cultivate students’ character, wisdom, and abilities. They are role models in the hearts of students and the partners most trusted by parents.

He made these remarks last night during his speech at the 2025 Year-End Teachers’ Appreciation Banquet of Miri Pujut Chinese School and Pujut Kindergarten, held at the Bay Garden Hotel.

Chai Kong Ming pointed out that under the leadership of Principal Chu Guangwu and three vice principals, the school’s ethos has become increasingly positive. With the concerted efforts of all teachers and students, school affairs are flourishing. Students have excelled in both discipline and academics, and have repeatedly achieved outstanding results in various academic and athletic competitions, bringing honor to the school.

Regarding the kindergarten, he especially thanked Principal Lee Yin Jia for her leadership, which has brought stability to school operations, peace of mind to parents, and harmonious teamwork. He believes that with the continued efforts of the principal and staff, Pujut Kindergarten will be able to continue on its path toward becoming the top model kindergarten in Miri. The board has strong confidence in the team.

He said that to thank all teachers for their hard work over the past year, the board has specially prepared New Year gratitude red envelopes. Although the amount is not large, it represents the most sincere appreciation and best wishes.

In addition, starting from this year, the board will give special rewards to teachers who excel in student training and leading school teams to participate in competitions, in order to encourage outstanding teaching and a spirit of teamwork.

He also thanked the 10-member Parent Support Group for generously sponsoring 10 lucky draw prizes, adding a lively atmosphere to the teachers’ appreciation banquet.

At the same time, he also congratulated Mr. Lee Tiansong, chairman of the Parent Support Group and president of Sarawak Chinese Association, for winning the "2025 Mayor's Award of Miri City Council" recently, in recognition of his long-term contributions to local tourism and community activities, saying that the award is well deserved.

Chai Kong Ming also wished Pujut Chinese School and Pujut Kindergarten even greater prosperity and growing reputation in the new year, and encouraged all teachers and students to continue striving—“BOLEH!”
