International film legend Jackie Chan has reached another important turning point in his acting career. At 71, in his latest film Citizen of a Family, he completely lets go of his action star persona, appearing for the first time with a natural, white-haired look, playing the role of “Ren Jiqing,” an elderly man living alone and suffering from dementia. In the film, his unsteady steps and distant gaze are both sincere and moving, and his subtle performance has made many viewers exclaim, “We’ve seen a side of Jackie Chan we’ve never seen before.”

In addition to the film itself sparking discussion, a recent interview with Jackie Chan also drew much attention. He frankly admitted that he has entrusted his team to create a “farewell song” for him, which is expected to be released only after his passing. When talking about life and death, his tone was calm yet full of emotion, stating that over the years he has bid farewell to too many close friends and family, making him even more deeply realize how unpredictable life can be.

Jackie Chan said his view of life is now different from before. “To be able to grow old slowly is a blessing.” He also revealed that his mindset now is to seize the moment, say what he wants to say, and do what he wants to do without too much hesitation.
