Xi Jinping Emphasizes Strategic Cooperation in Signed Article Published by North Korean Media

Chinese President Xi Jinping stated on Monday regarding China-North Korea relations that it is necessary to follow the trend of the times, strengthen strategic communication and coordinated cooperation, and jointly safeguard the international system with the United Nations at its core and an international order based on international law.

Xi Jinping made these remarks in a signed article published on the front page of North Korea's Workers' Party newspaper Rodong Sinmun during his state visit to Pyongyang. He stated that China and North Korea should jointly promote an equal and orderly multipolar world, inclusive and beneficial economic globalization, implement the four major global initiatives, and work together to build a community with a shared future for mankind.

Xi Jinping emphasized that he has held six meetings with North Korean State Affairs Commission Chairman Kim Jong Un, and stated that no matter how times change or how the international situation evolves, the traditional friendship between China and North Korea remains unbreakable and ever-lasting, constantly exuding vigorous vitality. Promoting long-term stability in the region and world peace and stability is the shared aspiration of both parties, both countries, and both peoples. Both sides firmly support each other in safeguarding national sovereignty, security, and development interests, and work together to uphold regional peace and tranquility, international fairness and justice, and the postwar international order.

At the invitation of Kim Jong Un, Xi Jinping is conducting a two-day state visit to North Korea starting Monday. This marks Xi Jinping's first visit to North Korea in seven years.
