(Bandar Seri Begawan, 15th) In order to enforce various laws and regulations under the Immigration Department, including the Trafficking in Persons Order (Chapter 230) and the Prevention of People Smuggling Order (Chapter 229), the Immigration Department recently conducted a raid and inspection at a restaurant in Zone B of Kuala Belait.
During the operation, a foreign national was found to be suspected of violating Section 11(3) of the Immigration Act (Chapter 17), namely working while holding a student pass. The individual was checked and detained on the spot, and was subsequently taken to the department's enforcement division for further investigation.
