A street murder case has occurred in Hokkaido, Japan. On the evening of the 4th, a 27-year-old Indonesian man in Chitose City, Hokkaido, went on a rampage with a kitchen knife, stabbing a 21-year-old young woman from the same country multiple times.
According to comprehensive reports from Japanese media, the incident happened around 9 pm on the 4th, on a street in a residential area in Shinano 1-chome, Chitose City. That night, police received reports from local residents and rushed to the scene. Upon arrival, they witnessed the 27-year-old Indonesian suspect, holding a kitchen knife, emotionally out of control, repeatedly stabbing the 21-year-old Indonesian woman, Rahayu, in the abdomen right in front of the police.
During the dramatic arrest, a Japanese police officer who risked his safety to subdue the suspect, as well as an Indonesian male friend who was with the victim, were both injured. Fortunately, after being sent to the hospital, both were found to be in stable condition and not in life-threatening danger. However, Rahayu, who suffered multiple critical abdominal wounds, was pronounced dead after being taken to hospital due to the severity of her injuries.
Police stated that the 27-year-old suspect claimed to be working part-time in Chiba Prefecture, while the 21-year-old victim resided in Chitose City. The two knew each other, and preliminary investigation suggests they were acquaintances or in a romantic relationship. After his arrest, the suspect confessed to the crime and cold-bloodedly admitted, “I stabbed her with the intention of killing her.”
At present, Japanese police have filed charges of murder against the suspect and are conducting a further in-depth investigation into the specific motives behind the attack, including possible emotional or financial disputes between the two.
