(Miri, 20th) The Moral Uplifting Society Zili Pavilion in Miri held its 2026 Pavilion Members’ General Assembly at its premises yesterday afternoon and unanimously passed a proposal to increase the number of board members from the original 25 to 27, in response to the increasingly busy operations of the Pavilion.

According to the rationale in the proposal, the number of board members had already been approved by the Registry of Societies to be increased to 27 last year. However, during the new board election held on April 12, 2026, the board still followed the old constitution and proceeded with 25 board member seats, thus leaving two positions vacant. In view of the heavy workload, there is an urgent need to increase the manpower to assist with various tasks.
The proposal was ultimately unanimously approved by the General Assembly, making the new board officially composed of 27 members.
At the same time, the assembly explained that the original 27th ranked candidate, Chen Enhua, declined the appointment as board member due to business commitments.
