According to the consensus reached by both China and South Korea, the South Korean side on Tuesday handed over the remains and related belongings of 12 Chinese People's Volunteer Army martyrs in South Korea (13th batch) to China.

On the 19th, a delegation composed of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs and other relevant departments departed for South Korea to carry out the handover of the remains of Chinese People's Volunteer Army martyrs in South Korea. On Monday, an Air Force Y-20B aircraft headed to South Korea to carry out the mission of receiving the remains of the martyrs, and on April 22, the heroes will return to their homeland by special plane.

To welcome the return of the 12 martyrs’ remains of the 13th batch, the entire main artery of Youth Avenue in Shenyang, Liaoning Province was illuminated, with outdoor screens displaying tribute messages and 3,500 national flags, all in the main color of China Red, to welcome the heroes home.

From 2014 to 2025, China has successively recovered and received the remains and related belongings of 1,011 Chinese People's Volunteer Army martyrs in South Korea over 12 occasions. They went as young men, and returned as the soul of the nation. We look forward to welcoming our heroes home.
