(Bandar Seri Begawan, 3rd) The Anti-Corruption and Prevention Unit of the Royal Brunei Police Force’s Criminal Investigation Department received multiple public reports about prostitution activities at a hotel in the Gadong area. At around 4:14 PM, officers launched a raid on the suspected hotel.
This operation was led by Assistant Superintendent Abdul, along with members of the Anti-Corruption and Prevention Unit. Investigation results showed that seven foreign women were suspected of engaging in immoral activities, and one foreign man was suspected of acting as a "pimp." All suspects and collected evidence were detained and handed over to the Gambling Suppression and Morality Investigation Unit for further investigation.
According to Section 294A of the Penal Code, first-time offenders will be fined no less than 500 Brunei dollars and not more than 5,000 Brunei dollars, or face imprisonment for up to one year. The police express their sincere gratitude for information provided by the public. At the same time, the police urge anyone with information about criminal activity in the country to report it at any nearby police station or call the emergency hotline 993.
