"Riding the Wind 2026" (Sisters Who Make Waves 7) is expected to air next month. According to the latest rumored contestant list, 57-year-old Hsiao Chiao would be the oldest participant. When asked about joining the show, Hsiao Chiao said it was still a rumor and negotiations were ongoing, but added, "I believe everything will be arranged for the best," leaving open the possibility of her participation.
Recently, the official Weibo of "Riding the Wind 2026" released a list of potential invitees, using song titles or phrases that trended online to hint at their identities and asked fans to guess who they are. For example, “I’ve vaguely heard about it” is exactly what Fan Weiqi’s agent said before Liang Jingru confirmed her divorce; “Your heart has a wall” obviously refers to the lyrics of Claire Kuo’s representative song “Heart Wall”; and “Missing someone in my own space” is from Pets Tseng’s song “Thinking of Someone Alone.”
This has led outsiders to speculate that Fan Weiqi, Claire Kuo, and Pets Tseng will represent Taiwan in this season’s competition, while the oldest participant, Hsiao Chiao, is also listed in the rumored lineup.
"Sisters Who Make Waves" Sends Invitations Almost Every Year
Regarding being called the show’s “biggest celebrity” and “the oldest contestant this season,” Hsiao Chiao only admitted that the show had indeed reached out to her management team, and she had also heard that "Sisters Who Make Waves" had extended invitations almost every year. She cleverly replied, “Fairies aren’t too familiar with worldly matters,” and brushed it off with a playful “eating hand” (meaning: let’s leave it at that), possibly due to confidentiality agreements prohibiting her from saying more.
Hsiao Chiao also added vaguely that there’s nothing she must do, nor does she refuse to do anything—it all depends on her manager's evaluation and how they plan to persuade her.
