(Kuala Lumpur, 2nd) On Friday (January 2), the Meteorological Department issued a warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds, affecting four states and federal territories. The warning is effective until 12 noon.
According to a statement released by the Meteorological Department in the morning, the affected areas include Bentong in Pahang; Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat, and Sepang in Selangor.
The warning also covers the federal territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, as well as Jelebu, Seremban, and Port Dickson in Negeri Sembilan.
The Meteorological Department reminds the public to stay alert, closely monitor weather changes, and be aware of the risks of sudden floods, fallen trees, and other hazards that may be triggered by severe convective weather.
