(Seria, 11th) The Brunei Tai Po Association will hold the Bingwu Year Qingming Festival Spring Ceremony.
The association has scheduled April 5, 2026, at 7:30 am as the first stop to pay respects at the Chinese Cemetery at Tunku Hill, followed by visits to two Chinese cemeteries in Seria. At around 9:00 am, everyone is expected to gather at the seaside Chinese Cemetery for the Qingming Festival ceremony.
The Tai Po Association's board would like to invite all members to participate in this year’s spring ceremony, to remember our ancestors, honor our forebears, and promote filial piety.
On the same day at exactly 12:00 noon, a Tai Po Qingming Spring Ceremony luncheon will be held at the Yuanxiang Restaurant in downtown Seria. This year, the luncheon is scheduled at noon in response to members' suggestions, and the association hopes that Tai Po members and their families will eagerly sign up to attend. The meal is only $15 per person, to be paid on the day.
The association's women members will organize to prepare the highly anticipated Tai Po hometown dish, ‘suan pan zi’ (yam abacus seeds), for participants to enjoy. Those interested in registering may do so with the association's secretary, Xie Wenhui, at phone number 8752923.
Registration closes on March 31. To facilitate headcount and ingredient preparation, members are kindly requested to register as soon as possible in order not to miss out.
