Cypermethrin is a synthetic pyrethroid insecticide widely used in agriculture, forestry, and public health sectors. India is one of the world’s largest exporters of cypermethrin.

The Ministry of Commerce, on the 7th, through a Q&A, stated that at the request of the domestic industry, an anti-dumping investigation was launched on May 7th last year on cypermethrin imported from India.

A spokesperson from the Ministry of Commerce stated that during the investigation, strict adherence to laws, regulations, and relevant WTO rules was maintained, listening extensively to the opinions of all stakeholders, fully ensuring the rights of all parties, and objectively, fairly, and justly concluding the investigation. It was determined that there was severe dumping of cypermethrin imported from India, causing substantial damage to the domestic industry, and there was a causal link between the dumping and the substantial damage. The determined anti-dumping tax rates for Indian companies range from 48.4% to 166.2%. The Ministry of Commerce decided to implement anti-dumping measures starting from May 7th, 2025, for a period of 5 years.
