(Miri, 13th) A school bus on Taman Tunku Sibu Road caught fire early this morning, fortunately without any casualties.
According to the fire department, the vehicle involved in the incident was a Kia Pregio school bus. The Miri Central Fire Department received the emergency call at 6:43 am. Upon receiving the report, the fire department swiftly dispatched a fire truck and an emergency medical rescue vehicle, arriving at the scene at 6:52 am and commenced fire extinguishing operations at 6:53 am.
The scene commander, Zuflizan Samsudin, stated that the fire was already quite intense upon arrival. After an initial assessment, the team immediately utilized two fire hoses and one foam bucket to extinguish the fire. The fire was brought under control at 7:05 am and was completely extinguished by 7:26 am.
It is understood that there were no students or any passengers in the vehicle at the time of the incident, and the fire only involved the vehicle itself. The damage to the vehicle is estimated to be 70%. After the fire extinguishing operation, the case has been handed over to the fire department's fire investigation team to determine the cause and assess the damage.
