(Kuching, 9th) The Malaysian Meteorological Department has issued a warning that Sarawak is expected to continue experiencing high temperatures and relatively dry weather until August 14. Due to limited rainfall and continuous wind, the risk of transboundary haze may also increase.
The Meteorological Department stated that, according to the latest weather forecast models, most areas of Borneo, including Sarawak, will continue to see hot and relatively dry weather over the next few days.
The authorities pointed out that with the ongoing south wind and the high number of hotspots in neighboring countries, haze may be carried into Sarawak, especially the southern regions of the state, where visibility may be affected.
