(Bandar Seri Begawan, 29th) The Kuala Belait Chinese Chamber of Commerce held a grand celebration banquet last night at the V Plaza Banquet Hall in honor of its 69th anniversary.
The banquet hall was brilliantly lit, packed with guests, and the atmosphere was warm and dignified. Mr. Lim Han Cheong, President of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Bandar Seri Begawan, personally led the board members to attend and offer congratulations. The scene was lively, with everyone mingling and greeting one another.
Organizing Committee Chairman Mr. Chan Yong Kui, in his speech, expressed his gratitude to all the guests who supported and participated in this anniversary banquet. It was everyone’s enthusiastic participation that enabled the smooth success of the evening. Chairman Chan especially thanked the president and board members for their close cooperation and for sponsoring lucky draw red packets, adding even more surprise and laughter to the event.

During the cheerful dinner, a solemn long-service awards ceremony was held. The honored board members included: Second Vice-President Mr. Hwang Ah Heng for 35 years of service; Mr. Chan King Keong (Public Relations) and Mr. Chan Hong Yuan (Deputy Business) for 25 years; and Mr. Liu Yong Yuan (Deputy Welfare) for 15 years. The winners went on stage amid applause, making for a heartwarming and touching moment.
In addition, during the banquet, special donations were made to the education funds of four Chinese schools in Kuala Belait: Nawai Chinese School, Sungai Liang Zhong Ling School, Seria Chung Cheng Middle School, and Kuala Belait Chinese School. The atmosphere grew even warmer as everyone contributed generously to education, fully demonstrating the chamber members’ sense of social responsibility.
