(Miri, 15th) The chairman of the Miri and Limbang Chinese School Teachers Association, Lai Zhaotian, stated that the Chinese singing competition is not only a stage for students to showcase their talents but also an important practical platform for cultural inheritance and language learning.

He pointed out that every contestant who takes the stage represents the culmination of countless practices and rehearsals. They interpret emotions with their singing, connect hearts with notes, bringing about feelings and shocks, showcasing their love and persistence for music. This spirit is worth learning and affirming by everyone.

Lai Zhaotian emphasized that through singing competitions, students can further appreciate the beauty and rhythm of the Chinese language, and subtly enhance their sense of language and expression skills, further strengthening language learning.

He hopes that this competition can stimulate more children's interest in Chinese songs and make singing a beautiful memory in their growth process.

He made these remarks at the closing award ceremony of the "14th Miri and Limbang Division Chinese Primary School Students Chinese Singing Competition 2025", jointly organized by the Miri and Limbang Division Chinese School Board Federation and the Miri and Limbang Chinese School Teachers Association, held yesterday afternoon at the Miri Chinese School Multimedia Auditorium.

Lai Zhaotian also specially mentioned that this year's competition is different from previous years, with the addition of a group competition category, in the hope of encouraging active involvement in singing education by schools and affirming the efforts and contributions of schools and teachers in student development.

He added that the competition also undertakes the task of selecting representatives, with the winners representing Miri and Limbang Division to participate in the upcoming state-wide Chinese Primary School Students Singing Competition in Bintulu on August 23, hoping the contestants can continue to shine on a bigger stage and win honor for the two divisions.

Lai Zhaotian finally thanked the organizing committee, the entire team at Miri Chinese School, the judging teachers, and all the participating students and guiding teachers present. It was their efforts and dedication that created such a wonderful and successful competition.

The event was also attended by guests including the Chairman of the Miri and Limbang Division Chinese School Board Federation, Penghulu Ye Zhengcheng, directors of Miri Division Chinese School Board Federation, committee members of Miri and Limbang Chinese School Teachers Association, as well as principals, teachers, and parents from various schools.
