(Bandar Seri Begawan, 27th) Baiduri Bank recently held an anti-fraud awareness event for its employees at its headquarters, in collaboration with the Royal Brunei Police Force Cyber Crime Investigation Unit.
This initiative is part of Baiduri Bank's ongoing efforts to strengthen the prevention of financial crimes, attracting over 50 employees from various departments within the bank.
The objective of this activity was to deepen employees' understanding of the ever-evolving scam tactics affecting Brunei and to help them master the skills to recognize warning signs and take appropriate action when customers are at risk.

The event was conducted by officers from the Criminal Investigation Department’s Cyber Crime Investigation Unit, who shared current scam trends, commonly used tactics by fraudsters, and practical preventive measures that individuals and organizations can adopt.
In his opening speech, Jonathan Lim, Head of Group Risk at Baiduri Bank, emphasized the importance of proactively raising awareness in today's increasingly digital environment.
"Fraud tactics are becoming more sophisticated, often exploiting people’s trust, sense of urgency, and digital channels. As a bank, we have a responsibility not only to protect our systems, but also to enhance our employees’ awareness and confidence to better protect our customers. This training is part of our broader commitment to strengthening the first line of defense against fraud."

The training stressed the importance of vigilance and attention to common danger signals, including unsolicited requests for personal or banking information, being pressured to act quickly, and receiving unfamiliar links or payment instructions. The training also reminded employees to always verify transactions and communicate carefully with customers if suspicious activity is encountered.
Baiduri Bank will continue to prioritize fraud prevention by combining technology, processes, and ongoing education. In addition to internal initiatives, the bank also encourages customers to stay alert, adopt good digital habits, and report any suspicious activity promptly.
Baiduri Bank expressed gratitude to the Royal Brunei Police Force for their continued efforts in raising public fraud awareness and strengthening the collective response to fraud threats within Brunei.
