On the 5th, Chinese startup Unitree Robotics released a new quadruped robot dog, the Unitree A2, with a maximum running speed of 5 meters per second and a maximum climbing height of 1 meter.
According to official specifications provided by Unitree Robotics, the entire Unitree A2 weighs just 37 kilograms, and it has an unloaded endurance of up to 20 kilometers. The A2 robot dog boasts outstanding locomotion abilities, easily clearing obstacles and moving forward stably.
Video footage shows the A2 can withstand an adult male jumping on its back, and can maintain high-speed running even in complex environments such as caves and rocky slopes. If it loses footing while darting forward on gravel, it can immediately flip over to regain its balance.
It is reported that, when carrying a load of 30 kilograms, the A2 robot dog can walk at least 12.55 kilometers and continuously operate for about 3 hours. The product is also equipped with ultra-wide-angle LiDAR 3D perception technology, enabling comprehensive scanning of its surroundings.
Unitree Robotics has maintained a leading position in the quadruped robot field for a long time. According to data from GG Robotics Industry Research Institute, in 2024, Unitree Robotics sold 23,700 quadruped robot dogs, accounting for about 69.75% of the global market share.
