The General Office of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the CPC has required discipline inspection and supervision organs at all levels to strengthen supervision and inspection, and resolutely prevent the resurgence of the ‘Four Forms of Decadence’.
On Saturday (September 27), the website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission released a message that the General Office of the CCDI had issued the “Notice on Strict Implementation of the Central Eight-point Regulation Spirit and Strict Rectification of the ‘Four Forms of Decadence’ During the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival.”
The “Notice” stressed the need to solidify main responsibility, promote Party organizations at all levels to profoundly understand that the Central Eight-point Regulation is the Party Central Committee’s action to build credibility, to stay steadfast at key junctures and never relax, resolutely eliminate misunderstandings such as passing the test as soon as learning and education are over, and pay close attention to and thoroughly implement work style construction with no letup. All levels of leading organs and cadres, especially the ‘first-in-command’, are to strictly enforce self-discipline, shoulder heavy responsibilities, strictly manage those under their jurisdiction, take the lead in thoroughly implementing the spirit of the Central Eight-point Regulation, and strengthen education and reminders for young cadres, newly promoted cadres, and those in key posts, in order to prevent slack thinking and misconduct.
The “Notice” requires strict attention to problems that easily occur during holidays, resolutely correcting the giving and receiving of mooncakes, crab cards/vouchers, cigarettes, alcohol, tea, and other gifts and cash in violation of regulations; banqueting in residential neighborhoods, internal canteens, private clubs, and other locations in violation of rules; illegally granting allowances, bonuses or benefits; holding weddings, funerals, and other celebrations in violation of regulations; private use of official vehicles; accepting travel or entertainment activities that may affect fair execution of official duties, and the like, and to focus on further rectifying inaction and abuse of power in the service and support of business entities and the normal production and life of the people.
The “Notice” emphasized the need for strict supervision and discipline enforcement, maintaining a focus on catching violations as they occur and on typical cases, thoroughly investigating and dealing with covert and mutated forms of problems, quickly and strictly handling violations of discipline committed in defiance of prohibitions, strictly punishing false or concealed reporting, and holding both direct and leadership personnel accountable in cases of serious consequences, maintaining a high-pressure punitive stance.
