Israeli Defense Minister Katz stated on the 17th that the Israeli Air Force would launch a 'major' strike on Tehran, the capital of Iran, on the same day.

He told the media at the site of an explosion of an Iranian ballistic missile in central Israel that the Israeli Air Force would target 'very important' strategic objectives, government targets, and infrastructure targets in Tehran.

According to The Times of Israel, Katz also mentioned that 'more than 10 nuclear targets in Tehran' are about to be destroyed, with the Fordow underground nuclear facility in Iran's northern Qom province being a 'definite issue to be resolved.'

Additionally, on the 17th, Iranian Armed Forces Chief of Staff Mousavi pointed out that Iran would soon carry out 'punitive actions' against Israel.

In a video statement, he said that Iran's actions against Israel so far have been intended as a 'deterrent warning,' and the 'punitive actions' against Israel are about to begin.

He urged Israeli citizens, particularly residents of Tel Aviv and Haifa, to evacuate to ensure their safety.

According to The Times of Israel, in less than an hour during the early hours of the 18th, Iran launched rockets towards Israel.
