(Bandar Seri Begawan, 13th) Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office Crown Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah and Crown Princess Sarah attended the opening ceremony of the Brunei International School (ISB) Fifth Grade Art Exhibition.
The event was held at the Seria Hart Living Gallery.
Attendees included the Crown Prince's son Abdul Mateen, daughter Muqaddam, Muhammad Aiman, and Fatimah.
The exhibition, themed “World Tribes,” showcased sarong prints designed by grade-level students of the school, including works by Muhammad Aiman. The exhibition aims to promote creativity, cultural exploration, and artistic growth, showcasing the learning journey of the students.
During the creative process, students learned traditional patterns, simplified them into various shapes, and used clay, cardboard, and PVA glue to design bold and wearable art pieces. Twenty-one exquisite sarongs were displayed on the main wall of the gallery, and visitors could interact with the remaining works, trying them on and taking photos, making the experience more immersive and engaging.
The school's principal and CEO Dominic Morley emphasized the school's commitment to inclusive education and academic excellence in his welcoming speech.
“Art embodies this concept, offering students freedom beyond textbooks to exchange ideas, emotions, and perspectives. It nurtures resilience, problem-solving abilities, and confidence—qualities of excellence that not only shape artists but also cultivate future leaders.
ISB Fifth Grade Director Mark Rosso described the exhibition as a vivid representation of Brunei International School’s dynamic curriculum and commitment to purposeful learning.
“This encourages interest, autonomy, and motivation in children. This is just one aspect we want to share in our curriculum.”
