(Kuching, 19th) The Sarawak Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Wan Junaidi, presided over the opening ceremony of the fourth session of the 19th Sarawak State Assembly at the Sarawak State Assembly building today.
His arrival with his wife, Toh Puan Sri Faziah Mohamad Sanusi, was warmly received by the Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and his wife, Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma'ani Tun Tuanku Bujang.
The arrival of Tun Wan Junaidi and his wife was accompanied by a grand honor guard ceremony.

Subsequently, Tun Wan Junaidi reviewed the honor guard composed of 105 members from the Royal Malaysian Police force, including 3 officers and 102 other members. The honor guard was commanded by Deputy Superintendent Haron Shahruddin Mohd, with Flag Officer Inspector Mohamad Aziz Kamir. The Royal Police Band, which consisted of 40 members and was led by Inspector Frankie Billy, provided musical accompaniment for the ceremony.
The ceremony continued with the reading of the prayer, followed by the honor guard presenting a royal salute and the playing of the national anthem 'Negaraku' alongside the Sarawak state anthem 'Ibu Pertiwiku'. After this, Tun Wan Junaidi and his wife left the parade ground for the Sarawak Auditorium, accompanied by the flag retreat.
During this eight-day session, six bills will be presented by various ministers and deputy premiers.

The 2024 Fiscal Supply Bill (2025) and the 2025 Fiscal Supply Bill (2025), to be presented by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas;
The 2025 Infrastructure Development Trust Fund Dissolution Bill;
The 2025 Sarawak Biodiversity Centre (Amendment) Bill, to be presented by Minister of Education, Innovation, and Talent Development Datuk Seri Roland Sagah;
The 2025 Land Code (Amendment) Bill, to be presented by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan;
The 2025 Local Government (Amendment) Bill, to be presented by Deputy Premier and Public Health, Housing, and Local Government Minister Datuk Amar Sim Kui Hian.
