(Bandar Seri Begawan, 21st) The Speaker of the Legislative Council of Brunei, Pehin Abdul Rahman, met yesterday with Thomas Eskay, a member of the Swiss National Council and the head of the Swiss Parliament's delegation to the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) and the European Union.
The two sides discussed topics of mutual concern and interest, including the role of legislative bodies and opportunities for cooperation in various fields.
This meeting also provided a platform for both parties to share experiences and best practices to further strengthen inter-parliamentary relations.
After the talks, the delegation visited the Legislative Council Chamber to better understand the environment and procedures of Brunei's legislative meetings.
Swiss Ambassador to Brunei, Frank Grütter, and Dr. Regula Küsz-Buyin, Deputy Representative of the Swiss Embassy in Singapore, also attended the event.
