On the evening of the 13th, leaders of multiple countries and international organizations held a summit in the Egyptian Red Sea resort city of Sharm El Sheikh, focusing on the first phase of a Gaza ceasefire. The leaders of Egypt, the United States, Turkey, and Qatar signed a document, providing guarantees for the ceasefire agreement.

The Egyptian Presidential Office issued a statement pointing out that the summit emphasized that the international community must cooperate and provide all necessary means to ensure the implementation and continuity of the ceasefire agreement provisions, including promoting a comprehensive ceasefire in Gaza, completing the exchange of detainees and prisoners, achieving Israeli troop withdrawal, and allowing humanitarian aid into Gaza.

During the meeting, Egyptian President Sisi, U.S. President Trump, Qatari Emir (Head of State) Tamim, and Turkish President Erdogan signed a document. In the document, the four countries' leaders pledged, as guarantors, to support the implementation of the Gaza ceasefire agreement.

In his address at the summit, Sisi stressed that the "two-state solution" is the only way to achieve peaceful coexistence between Palestinians and Israelis.

He said Egypt intends to host an international conference on Gaza's early recovery, reconstruction, and development.

Trump stated that some attending national leaders expressed their intention to join the US-proposed "20-Point Plan" to set up a "Peace Committee" for post-war supervision in Gaza.

He pointed out that the participating countries agreed that the necessary conditions for Gaza's reconstruction are its demilitarization and the establishment of a new civil police force to maintain security.

Israel and Hamas Did Not Send Representatives to Attend

Hamas did not send representatives, but President of the Palestinian National Authority Abbas attended and had a brief meeting with Trump.

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu canceled his visit at the last moment, citing the start of a Jewish holiday that evening.

However, according to Israel's Channel 12 TV, the real reason for Netanyahu's absence was to avoid angering domestic supporters and right-wing allies by attending alongside Abbas, Erdogan, and other leaders.
