Chinese President Xi Jinping announced that China will provide $100 million (411 million Ringgit) in aid to Palestine to alleviate the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and support Gaza’s recovery and reconstruction.

On the 4th, after holding talks with visiting French President Emmanuel Macron, Xi Jinping made the above announcement during their joint meeting with reporters.

According to a Xinhua News Agency report, Xi Jinping pointed out that China and France will work together to promote a comprehensive, just, and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue as soon as possible. China will provide $100 million in aid to Palestine to alleviate the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and support Gaza’s recovery and reconstruction.

Regarding the Ukraine crisis, Xi Jinping said that China supports all efforts conducive to peace, and hopes all parties will reach a fair, lasting, binding agreement accepted by all parties concerned through dialogue and negotiation.

Xi Jinping pointed out that China will continue to play a constructive role in the political resolution of the crisis, and firmly opposes any irresponsible scapegoating or smearing actions.

In addition, China and France did not publicly mention the Taiwan issue. Recently, China and Japan have fallen into tensions due to remarks by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi stating "an incident in Taiwan is an incident for Japan." Before the meeting between the two heads of state, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi told French Foreign Minister Stéphane Séjourné that as both are victorious countries of World War II, China and France should jointly safeguard the achievements of the victory in World War II and must never allow Japan to stir up trouble over the Taiwan issue and repeat the mistakes of history.
