Chinese Private Enterprises Surpass 57 Million, Accounting for Over 90% of Total Enterprises

Data released by China's State Administration for Market Regulation on the 21st indicates that as of the end of March, the number of registered private enterprises in China exceeded 57 million, accounting for 92.3% of the total number of enterprises.

According to a Xinhua News Agency report, in the first quarter, China established 1.979 million new private enterprises, a year-on-year increase of 7.1%, surpassing the average growth rate of the past three years.

Data also shows that nationwide, 836,000 new private enterprises in the "Four New" economic sectors of "new technology, new industry, new business forms, and new models" were established, accounting for more than 40% of the total new private enterprises established during the same period, a year-on-year increase of 1.4%. Among them, the fastest growth was in internet and modern information technology service enterprises, reaching 18%.

New "digital economy" private enterprises amounted to 274,000, accounting for 13.9% of the total new private enterprises. Within this sector, the "digital product service industry" experienced the fastest growth, nearly 2.5 times that of last year.

Xinhua stated that Chinese private enterprises continuously enhance their core competitiveness through digital transformation, green and low-carbon transformation, and global strategic layouts, showcasing strong innovative vitality.

It has been reported that China's National People's Congress Standing Committee will hold a meeting in Beijing from April 27 to 30 to review the draft law on promoting the private economy.
