The 2026 session of China's National People's Congress (NPC) will be held on March 5.
According to comprehensive reports from CCTV News and Xinhua News Agency, the 19th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 14th NPC passed the decision on convening the fourth session of the 14th NPC on the morning of Saturday, December 27. According to the decision, the fourth session of the 14th NPC will be held in Beijing on March 5, 2026.
The recommended agenda for the fourth session of the 14th NPC includes: reviewing the government work report; reviewing the draft outline of the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development; reviewing reports on the implementation of the 2025 National Economic and Social Development Plan and the draft 2026 National Economic and Social Development Plan, as well as the 2026 draft plan; reviewing reports on the implementation of the 2025 central and local budgets and the draft 2026 central and local budgets, as well as the 2026 draft budgets; reviewing the proposal submitted by the NPC Standing Committee on the draft Environmental Protection Code of the People's Republic of China; reviewing the proposal submitted by the NPC Standing Committee on the draft Law on the Promotion of National Unity and Progress of the People's Republic of China; reviewing the proposal submitted by the NPC Standing Committee on the draft National Development Planning Law of the People's Republic of China; reviewing the work report of the NPC Standing Committee; reviewing the work report of the Supreme People's Court; reviewing the work report of the Supreme People's Procuratorate; and other matters.

It was recommended that the fourth session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee be held in Beijing on March 4, 2026.
