The voting and counting for Thailand’s House of Representatives election took place on the 8th. According to unofficial vote count results, the Bhumjaithai Party is currently leading the People’s Party.

Thai Public Broadcasting Service (Thai PBS) reported that as of 9 p.m., the Bhumjaithai Party leads with 167 constituency seats and 21 party-list seats; the People’s Party leads with 25 party-list seats, while ranking second with 71 constituency seats.

Earlier statistics showed that the Pheu Thai Party ranked third, winning a total of 76 seats across both constituency and party-list categories.

The National Institute of Development Administration’s polling center (NIDA Poll) released its poll results after voting concluded on the evening of the 8th. This survey was conducted from January 28 to February 7.

The poll showed that the Bhumjaithai Party ranked first, expected to win between 140 and 150 seats. The People’s Party was in second place, projected to win 125 to 135 seats. The Pheu Thai Party was third, expected to secure 110 to 120 seats.

Out of 500 members in the House of Representatives, 400 are elected based on constituency results, and 100 are allocated to parties based on proportional voting results. The result of the constitutional referendum will determine whether parliament will initiate the constitutional amendment process.
