(Kuching, 15th) Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg calls for the Sarawak Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ACCCIS) to strengthen collaboration with the Sarawak government to accelerate the economic growth of Sarawak.
He stated that opportunities for collaboration between ACCCIS and investors always exist, and the Sarawak government is ready to fully support any related initiatives.
During the ACCCIS 60th Anniversary Dinner held on Saturday, Abang Johari mentioned that the current focus of Sarawak's economic policy is on the sustainable energy sector, which not only aims for export but is also an important factor in attracting industry leaders.
"If investors want to produce a certain product and need energy, as long as we can provide competitive sustainable energy, they will choose to come here.
"Such opportunities are right in front of us. Therefore, I hope ACCCIS can join hands with us," he said.
He also praised ACCCIS for its huge contributions to Sarawak's economic development over the past sixty years and acknowledged its continued cooperation with the state government since 1965.
"Undoubtedly, business people are always a resilient and visionary group who continuously diversify economic activities with the times," he added.
