(Miri, 6th) Organized by the Miri City Care Social Organization in collaboration with eight community partners, the first "2025 Miri City World Blood Donor Day" event will be grandly held on June 8 (Sunday) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Miri Taman Tunku Club. This meaningful event will bring together the Miri community to work together to save lives.
The Mayor of Miri City, Dato' Yii Siew Sang, will serve as the guest of honor at the event.
This inaugural blood donor day event is jointly planned and sponsored by the Miri City Care Social Organization, Miri Taman Tunku Club, Piasau Community Welfare Association, Sarawak Oil Women Association, Miri Indian Association, Inner Wheel Club Miri, Miri Oil Town Rotary Club, Progress Community Team, and Miri Punjab Association.
The theme of this event is "Donate Blood, Share Hope: Saving Lives Together." The event not only encourages public participation in blood donation but also marks the continuation of Miri's community tradition of 36 years of voluntary blood donations, a legacy built on love, empathy, and selfless spirit.
The event is supported and sponsored by Unicorp and other organizations, and features free hearing tests provided on-site by Hearing Aid Center, as well as PeKa B40 registration and free blood screening registration services for eligible seniors by private clinics.
In the face of a long-standing blood shortage at medical institutions, this blood donation event is a call for emergency action, every drop of blood could save a life!
The organizers sincerely invite the Miri community to actively participate, donate blood, and contribute to this noble cause, especially during this festive season, making it all the more meaningful.
On June 8, everyone is welcome to come to Taman Tunku Club and join the relay for life. Because donating blood is offering hope, and together, we can save more lives.
