After the release of the movie 'A Step into the Past,' it has sparked a movie-watching craze. Louis Koo, who serves as the executive producer and lead actor, revealed that an extended edition will be released, but emphasized that it will only be launched if a certain box office threshold is surpassed: 'The box office has to cross a certain number, otherwise, it might not even appear.'
Louis Koo explained, 'Because a lot of things were cut out, such as scenes of family interactions; these would enrich the content the audience may feel is missing, for example, scenes with "Shan Rou" (played by Tavia Yeung).' He also pointed out that there’s definitely a need to watch it formally in the cinema. According to Hong Kong media, the current target is HK$100 million (about RM 52.5 million).
The film rarely features two endings, and Louis Koo further revealed that there is actually a third ending. He described, 'The third ending will feel like a continuation to everyone,' and disclosed that there is actually a receiver scene in the film, which was designed as a setup for the third ending. However, he said that even if there is an extended edition, this ending would not be included. Most unexpectedly, Louis Koo mentioned that there could be a 'crossover' with other works in the future, saying, 'It's possible, but it would be very complicated.' This statement greatly surprised fans who immediately thought of another of Louis Koo's works, 'Warriors of Future.'
