According to the Chiba Daily, on July 15, police in Chiba Prefecture arrested a 51-year-old woman on suspicion of intentional murder. The woman was accused of mixing feces into an IV tube, resulting in the patient's death.
According to the report, Miyuki Furukawa, 51, had worked as a nurse at a local hospital. Based on surveillance footage and other evidence, police allege that on January 30 this year, Furukawa mixed feces into the IV tube of a 75-year-old patient at the hospital, who died on January 31.
Furukawa resigned from the hospital in February this year.
After investigation, police arrested Furukawa on July 15. Furukawa has denied the allegations. The police are currently conducting further investigations into the case.
