Recently, China's State Grid Zhoushan Electric Power Company officially put into operation the first batch of 5 unmanned charging vehicles at Zhujiajian Wugongzhi Wharf in Zhoushan, Zhejiang. This aims to provide an innovative and intelligent solution to the problem of electric vehicle charging during peak periods at scenic spots and to guarantee green travel during the tourist season.
According to Xinhua News Agency, after receiving user reservation information through a mobile app or mini-program, the unmanned charging vehicles will automatically proceed to the designated parking slot according to the instructions of the intelligent dispatch system, and then accurately locate and provide convenient self-service charging for users.
Wugongzhi Wharf is an important tourism hub in Zhoushan, Zhejiang. During the tourist peak season, electric vehicles often face problems such as “more cars than charging piles” and “limited charging due to fixed parking spots”. Through the model of “mobile service + intelligent dispatch”, unmanned charging vehicles transforms the traditional “car seeks pile” into “pile seeks car”, thus improving service flexibility and enhancing the convenience of green travel for visitors to the island.
