Singapore’s Tourism Revenue Hit Record S$32.8 billion Last Year

Singapore’s tourism industry reached new heights last year, with total tourism receipts hitting S$32.8 billion (about RM101.2 billion), setting a new record. To build on this momentum, the Singapore government will inject another S$740 million (about RM2.28 billion) into the Tourism Development Fund over the next five years. This will help address challenges such as the Middle East energy crisis while also advancing the “Tourism Industry 2040” vision and ensuring Singapore remains an attractive tourism destination.

According to Lianhe Zaobao, Pulau Brani, covering about 120 hectares, will see new hotels and attractions being built, offering fresh experiences while retaining the island’s natural appeal. Once completed, the combined visitor numbers for Pulau Brani and Sentosa—forming “Greater Sentosa”—are expected to double.

Sustainability and Environment Minister Grace Fu, who oversees trade relations, said in her speech at the Singapore Tourism Board’s annual tourism conference on the 8th that the beaches of Greater Sentosa will be redeveloped to create more space and host various events.

Singapore’s tourism receipts last year totaled S$32.8 billion, about 10.1% higher than in 2024, marking another record; visitor arrivals increased by about 2.4% to reach 16.9 million. Tourists from China, Indonesia, and Australia contributed the most tourism receipts, while revenue from long-haul markets such as Germany, the UK, and the US also saw double-digit growth.

Grace Fu said these achievements were due to last year’s vibrant range of events and programs, including the first-ever World Aquatics Championships held in Southeast Asia, as well as the highly anticipated maiden sailing of the Disney Adventure in Singapore this March.
