(Julau, 20th) A man had a frightening experience yesterday evening on Jalan Babai (Babai Road), Pakan, when his car collided with a bus.
The accident occurred at around 6:20 pm, and although the front of the vehicle was severely damaged, the 55-year-old male driver only suffered minor injuries.
Julau District Police Chief, Arif Haikal Ramesh Abdullah, said the man was traveling from Sibu to Pakan at the time of the incident.
He said preliminary investigations revealed that the car possibly lost control and veered into the oncoming lane.
"As a result, the car collided with the right front of an oncoming bus. After the impact, the car spun and came to a stop on the left shoulder of the road," he said in a statement today.
The injured man was later sent to the Pakan government clinic for further treatment, while the bus driver was uninjured.
He added that police are currently investigating the case under Article 10 of the 1959 Road Traffic Rules (LN 166/59).
